Description: 1800 George III Spade Half Guinea Token ORIGINALFirst, please do not confuse this issue with those very common late Victorian and early 20th century counters that are usually dated in the 1780s.. They are what they are. Our piece here was actually struck in 1800 for use as a gaming counter. It measures 19mm and is struck in brass. The front shows a profile of George III with GEORGIVS III DEI GRATIA with the maker's initials S & T. The back shows a crowned spade with M. B. F. ET. H. REX. F. D. B. ET. L. D. S. R. I. A. T. ET. E with the date 1800. The shield represents Scotland, England, Ireland and Wales. This particular variety is listed in "One Thousand Guineas" catalog as number 2690. This is a scarce piece in nice grade.INTERNATIONAL buyers who are interested in buying multiple items from us, let me know BEFORE you click and pay.
