A total of 413 Jagdpanthers were produced from January 1944 by three manufacturers. They mainly served on the Eastern Front in heavy anti-tank battalions but appeared in the West in small numbers (about 12 with sPzJgAbt 654 late in the Battle of Normandy and 7 with sPzJgAbt 559 in the Battle of Gheel).
