Description: THE HIDDEN STAIRCASE is a handcrafted, hardbound modified miniature reproduction of the second Nancy Drew mystery, The Hidden Staircase originally published in 1930. It contains 18 pages including reproductions of the colorful orange flyleaves. There are reproductions of the four original 1930 illustrations by Russell H. Tandy in this volume. Only volumes 1 through 13 were printed withy the four glossy illustrations during the 1930s. The text consists of Chapter I from the 1959 edition. The cover is a reproduction of an early dust jacket including information about the Nancy Drew series on the back cover. The spine is also a reproduction of an early dust jacket and will look well on a miniature bookcase. This volume is 31/32 inches high by 25/32 inches wide and 1/8 inch thick. It is constructed using traditional book making techniques and other techniques I have developed for making miniature books. I personally make each book. My miniature books are not intended for children and are not toys. THE PICTURE IS LARGE TO ENABLE CLOSE VIEWING OF THE BOOK DETAILS. THE QUARTER IN THE PHOTO MEASURES .955 INCHES OR 24.26 MM.
